FinanceAccounting & TaxGermanyUK5 – 10 years2 – 5 yearsAbout our clientOur client is a hugely impressive venture capital fund which is looking to hire a Financial Accountant into their Berlin office. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for all things related to corporate accounting, such as managing financial records, budgeting and forecasting. The role will also require co-ordination with investment, fund finance, tax, investor relations teams as well as administrators, auditors & other external service providers. What the job involves
- Maintenance of accounting records of group entities aligning those with external service providers
- Preparation of various financial reports upon request
- Support of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
- Support year-end audit processes in collaboration with the team, clients, administrators, and auditors
- Participation in budgeting process
- Manage routine and ad-hoc client and senior management specific requests
- Reconciliation of cash transactions of companies
- Establishment and development of additional internal controls for companies
- Continuous improvement and automation of accounting and treasury processes in the company
- Assessment of current processes in order to permanently improve current business controls and systems
- Oversee the processing of invoices controlling, payments execution and reconciliation
Who we are looking for
- Relevant experience (Audit, Corporate / Financial Accounting experience is desirable)
- Profound knowledge of IFRS (German GAAP knowledge as an additional advantage)
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of accounting systems
- Basic understanding of tax laws and regulations in EU
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with wider internal & external stakeholders
- Fluent business English. German is beneficial
