Our founders and team deeply understand paint, decorating, and interiors. We also know a thing or two about brand and growth marketing.We’re looking for someone to join the leadership team who loves the numbers. But beyond that, we’re looking for a growth-focused FC with the vision to take COAT to the next level. From the fundamentals of controlling and financial planning, to scenario planning and modeling – it’s a broad role in an exciting early-stage company offering huge growth and development potential.About YouAs a Finance role, there are some very clear responsibilities and qualifications we’re looking for – which are outlined in the next section. We’re such a free and fast-moving business, that this balancing act is part of our everyday.What You’ll Be DoingFinancial Leadership:

• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the executive leadership team.
• Management of Accounts Payable and Receivable processes within COAT.

Financial Reporting

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting.
• Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, providing variance analysis and actionable insights.
• Maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Cash Flow Management:

• Manage cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
• Optimize working capital and monitor cash balances to meet operational and investment needs.
• Oversee treasury functions and relationships with banking partners

Systems & Process Improvement:

• Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to support growth and scalability.
• Implement best practices and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead finance transformation projects as needed.

Stakeholder Management:

• Serve as a key point of contact for investors, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
• Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to the board of directors and investors.
• Support fundraising activities and investor relations efforts.

Requirements

• University degree in finance or economics
• Recognised accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA)
• 5+ years experience in Finance and Controlling functions
• Excellent accounting knowledge, with proven experience with IFRS and consolidated financial reporting
• Strong analytical skills and a hands-on attitude
• Experience within a high-growth business, ideally a startup
• Great motivation and focus on delivery
• The right to work in the UK
