Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage daily operations of the restaurant and bar, ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement effective menus and beverage offerings, aligning with current trends and customer preferences.
  • Manage a team of staff, including hiring, training, and ongoing performance evaluations to maintain a cohesive work environment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed, ensuring cost-effectiveness and minimal waste.
  • Handle guest complaints and feedback with professionalism, striving to improve the overall dining experience.
  • Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff to maintain food quality and presentation, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts, analyzing financial data to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards.
  • Encourage and promote special events, meal promotions, and marketing initiatives to increase revenue.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing and health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
  • Engage with customers to foster strong relationships and enhance the reputation of The Swan Inn Islip.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage management principles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Desired Experience:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Experience in managing budgets and financial forecasting.
  • Familiarity with food and beverage trends and the ability to innovate menu offerings.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Previous experience with training and developing staff in a culinary or hospitality setting.
