Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily operations of the restaurant and bar, ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement effective menus and beverage offerings, aligning with current trends and customer preferences.
- Manage a team of staff, including hiring, training, and ongoing performance evaluations to maintain a cohesive work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed, ensuring cost-effectiveness and minimal waste.
- Handle guest complaints and feedback with professionalism, striving to improve the overall dining experience.
- Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff to maintain food quality and presentation, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Manage budgets and forecasts, analyzing financial data to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards.
- Encourage and promote special events, meal promotions, and marketing initiatives to increase revenue.
- Ensure compliance with licensing and health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Engage with customers to foster strong relationships and enhance the reputation of The Swan Inn Islip.
Essential Qualifications:
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of food and beverage management principles.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Desired Experience:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Experience in managing budgets and financial forecasting.
- Familiarity with food and beverage trends and the ability to innovate menu offerings.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Previous experience with training and developing staff in a culinary or hospitality setting.
