DescriptionBackground Information

  • The Rural & Northern Locum Programs (RNLP) team is responsible for administering a collection of high-volume, operationally intensive programs that connect rural and remote communities in need to time-limited physician coverage. The programs vary in their scope, scale, and historical development, leading to varied workflows and implementation of digital tools. At present, RNLP’s digital tools are antiquated and inefficient, leading to poor end user experience, ineffective utilization of the team’s resources, increased security risks, and an inability to expand to meet the province’s needs. Modern technology and tools present significant opportunities to improve RNLP’s operations.
  • The purpose of this procurement is to acquire a contingent resource to support the delivery of a Ministry objective (Operations of Rural & Northern Locum Program operations) through a more modern and secure solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and implement front end code including user interface interactions and create attractive and effective user interfaces.
  • Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their requirements.
  • Translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications. This includes developing detailed programming user interface specifications, writing and/or generating code, compiling data-driven programs, maintaining, and conducting unit tests.
  • Support other team on troubleshooting technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages, responsive frameworks, including technical assistance in implementation, conversion, and documentation.

Required Experience / Evaluation Criteria: Total – 100 Points1) Experience in designing, coding and unit testing complete user interfaces: 30 Points

  • Experience with different development tools such as Azure DevOps, Visio, Visual Studio Code, MSSQL, etc.

2) Prototyping, wireframing, user flows, and mock-ups documentation: 25 Points

  • Experience with planning, designing, developing user interface wireframes, user flows and mock-ups.
  • Experience handling communication with stake holders on user interface design activities.
  • Experience with organizing sessions of user interface walkthrough with stake holders.
  • Managing the development of the wireframes, user flows and mock-ups.

3) Angular, Angular Material, SCSS, Java Script, HTML, Scripting Languages: 25 Points

  • Experience with analysing existing application to understand its functionality.
  • Experience with Angular and Angular Material implementation
  • Experience coding with SCSS, JavaScript, HTML and scripting languages.

4) User interface visual design tools: 10 Points

  • Experience with Figma or other user interface visual design tools.
  • Experience managing versioning of the documents created form this tool.
  • Experience with walking the key stakeholder and supporting project teams through the visual designs

  • Develop application interface with cross browser combability and AODA compliance.
  • Design, plan, and execute application interface design walk through sessions with different teams.
  • Support current/new system architecture analysis.
  • Support current/new system design documentation.
  • Support identifying existing technology and application security risks.
  • Develop structured methodology for the application interface design, development and implementation.
  • Prepare training materials and system documentation as required.

  • Ontario Health assets including laptops and related equipment cannot be removed from the province of Ontario without prior written approval from Ontario Health.
  • Assignment Type: This position is currently listed as “Hybrid”. The resource under this request will be required to work onsite as per Hiring Manager sole discretion.
