Retail Media are responsible for significant revenue generation within the company, and we’re expanding our engineering teams to meet our commercial & technology targets.We’re hiring for multiple roles within our Retail Media space, with the main area of focus being on the integration of a third party platform that will power our on-site advertising initiative.As a Frontend Software Engineer, you will help drive our architecture & technical deliveries by writing highly scalable and testable code, supporting your peers & challenging our teams to strive for excellence. We work closely with a large number of other teams, with inner-sourced development as our standard way of working. In our organisation ownership is one of our core engineering principles – we write it and we own it. Engineers are expected to take responsibility for their work, including being part of an on-call rota to ensure the reliability of the system that we’re building.These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Collaborate with your peers in planning, designing & developing scalable enterprise solutions using React as the main frontend framework (we also have some areas of Vue).
• Collaborate with other cross functional engineers & engineering teams, as well as with key stakeholders to ensure we deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Ensure our web applications are optimised for accessibility, performance & scalability.
• Participate in our on-call rota, ensuring that we maintain operational excellence.

What will you bring to the table?

• Strong frontend development experience, ideally with a background in writing React or Vue web applications.
• Ideally, a strong understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), along with modern JS tooling/frameworks such as Next.js, Redux Saga & TypeScript.
• Demonstrable experience of unit testing tools/frameworks (for example Jest, Cypress, Playwright, React Testing Library, etc).
• An understanding of WCAG standards, CSS pre-processors, CSS frameworks & responsive UI development.
• Able to work independently, taking responsibility for the technical delivery of key technical initiatives within a given workstream.
• Eagerness to mentor (associate) software engineers.
• A strong understanding of cloud service, preferably AWS, however experience with Azure or GCP is fine.
