The Trust has a diverse property portfolio of around 68 sites with an approximate total GIA of. 70,000sq. m spread across Kent and Medway, which provide 24-7 365-day patient services.Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) employs around 5700 staff made up of community nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians, podiatrists, dental staff and many other health care professionals and corporate services. The Trust is one of the largest community health providers in England, serving a population of approximately 1.4 million people across Kent, East Sussex and parts of London Boroughs. This Trust has 33 sites included in the contract.About the Role:As a General Manager, you will report into the Regional Director and be part of the senior leadership team for England. You will be located in our Aylesford branch with regular travel across Kent and Medway. The post holder will ensure that their Contracts/ Branch is operated on sound Operational and Commercial principles. In doing so, they will create a high performing culture to review and improve financial, contractual and compliant performance of the contracts you are responsible for, whilst maintaining an effective and professional working relationship with their clients. To help form strong communication channels throughout FM and the wider business.

  • Providing effective leadership, a demonstrable strong approach to mentoring and motivation of staff within the Branch team by setting a clear direction for the contract(s) and leading by example. Set targets and objectives that encapsulate the Division’s strategy.
  • Develop sustainable key Client/Stakeholder relationships, ensuring a high quality of customer engagement and involvement.
  • Ensure the customer experience is central to all activities and embedded in all stakeholders of the Branch/Contract operation to ensure an efficient and productive service is delivered to service users and clients.
  • To fully understand the contract operation, and using business operating systems, ensure contracts are effective, commercially, and legally compliant. To ensure efficient operational performance and compliance using Management Information, KPI’s and other systems such as: MCM – MSP – Performance Dashboards – Standard Operating Procedures Workday – Contract Compliance Plans – Client Development Plans – SODA.
  • Review, monitor and control Branch/Contract performance to ensure delivery of the P&L. Using Management Information and KPI’s, develop and implement plans with controls to achieve or exceed Budget Delivery, and that Debt and WIP are kept ‘current’. To ensure that information flow and financial processes are kept accurate and to timeline.
  • Demonstrate control over all business governance, risk management processes and adherence to delegated authorities. These include daily weekly, monthly and annual planning of resources including office staff, together with a demand-based approach to directly employed and subcontracted skilled trades.
  • Responsibility to ensure compliance with all Health & Safety Regulations and Guidance, Codes of Practice, and Industry Guidance by working closely with the H&S Manager. The post holder must ensure compliance with all SHEQ requirements and targets including all monitoring inspections, including but not exclusively joint monthly H&S visits with the H&S team.
  • Embed company values and procedures through the principles of Mears Red Thread, to be monitored through your monthly Branch/Contract meetings, annual appraisals, and annual staff surveys.

Role Criteria:

  • Experience managing a team at senior level
  • Experience of Profit and Loss account
  • Experience of managing multiple site contracts
  • Managing contracts to service level agreements and kpis
  • Health and Safety management
  • Ability to build strong client relationships
  • Previous experience working on NHS sites would be desirable but not essential
  • Professional trade qualified would be desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of hard FM services would be desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication
  • Full UK driving license
