As we continue growing at a fast pace, will you “Dare to Grow” with us?YOUR ROLEThe Global Head of Reefer Product Development is a member of the Global Ocean Leadership and directly responsible for leading the profitable growth of the product on a global level. They will manage a team of reefer experts at GHO, and in the regions, in alignment with the global and regional ocean strategy.Key focus areas include:
- Leading the successful profitable growth of the reefer product on a global level
- Managing, in collaboration with regional leadership, a matrix organization of reefer specialists in the target markets
- Providing subject matter expertise in the development of operational structures and processes
- Supporting BD, OPD, and Global Tender Management with pricing solutions to grow our share of Reefer volume
- Management of strategic third-party partnerships on a global level (CCP) in collaboration with the partner carrier managers
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?Carrier Management & Development
- In alignment with global and regional product leadership, establish a global reefer strategy mid (annual) and long-term (5 year)
- Assure, including the validation of the same, that CEVA’s Reefer product consistently outperforms market averages on fixed long-term contracting rates (NAC) and spot market (FAK) in comparison with available trade data (Xeneta) and published indices
- Make sure that all corporate policies are followed and respected in alignment with the NVOCC governance team
- Ensure that the use of marketing intelligence tools and information are leveraged to drive education and strategy at every level of the organization
- Support on operational topics with the global carriers, acting as ultimate escalation for the same (claims, allocation disputes, etc…)
- Control operational risks, service quality, financial balances, and competitiveness of its product
- Collaborate and support BD in strategic customers’ meeting
- Support the Sales office in the setting-up of solutions and engaging with customers as requested
- Communicate with Sales, back office and ocean leaders on all Reefer relevant topics
Solutions
- Procurement optimization via different contracting models in alignment with global trade management
- Routing options to cater to customers’ needs creating differentiation through our approach
- Responsible for relations with Global strategic partners with the support of Carriers’ Managers on the Reefer product
- Support tender team activities assuring competitive and timely responses to all targeted tenders by the Reefer product
Operations
- Support the global Operational Excellence Organization in the creation and maintenance of Global Reefer work instructions
- Establish and refresh processes for temperature-controlled cargo handling, quotations, and booking processes assuring accurate level of knowledge and capability at assigned locations to handle the same
- Establish, and manage, Service Level agreements with all globally approved partners (CCP) for the Reefer product
- Monitor service quality of suppliers via KPI, carriers’ survey, and continuous engagement of our account managers at the sub-contractors to drive performance
- Global Escalation contact with carriers for critical operational challenges, statement of account concerns, and adherence to our contractual commitments
Coach & People Management
- Foster a collaborative environment at a global, regional, and national level assuring consistent sharing of market intel to empower the best procurement practices for the organization
- Lead and mentor the global trade management teams establishing performance goals, in alignment with corporate and regional strategy, and providing guidance on a consistent basis
- Improve the performance of trade team in all regions by maintaining communication with staff and providing the appropriate support and guidance
- Ensure that nominated people (at Regional & Sub Regional levels) have the required skills
- Support in the identification and hiring of the correct persons in coordination with the regional head of product and human resources
Reefer Budget
- Alignment with Region on how to deliver the Reefer budget for the year
- Responsible to work with Ocean Product, BD organization Global/ Regional to delivery Reefer Budget
- In Alignment with Global Ocean Head, define a 5-year business plan and global organization chart
- Define yearly road map, including business trips and CEVA participation in international fairs to be included on Global Ocean budget
RFQ Strategy
- Selection of clear RFQ win strategy in various customs segmentations based on product offering or develop new product offering to penetrate /strengthen new and existing customer’s share of wallet in volume and revenue
- Global Head of reefer to decide on the RFQ response strategy for all Reefer Strategic customers in agreement with the Global head of Ocean
- Product entry point for GTM on Reefer Product to align on customer bid strategy and solution design.
- Deliver higher success rate of RFQ response YOY with GTM support to deliver high quality responses for RFQ’s
- Lead deeper engagement with Customer & BD for strategy alignment to offer robust and price competitive solution
- Lead Pricing, space guaranty, demurrage, and detention conditions for higher success rate of RFQ’s
- Responsible for best pricing response within agreed pricing guidelines for all Strategic bids
- Ensure all RFQ responses are in line with CEVA policy and guidelines
Solution Design
- Promote strategic solution design in responses as a key differentiator for bids
- Ensure deeper understanding of customer needs & challenges, and design solutions to offer an end-to-end option.
- Propose new approaches and innovative competitive advantages in our solutions.
- Develop solution design capabilities for Reefer product using internal & external resources.
- Give input in building and training of product development programs in regions.
- Lead sector specific solution development as differentiators beyond standard solutions
- Collaborate with Insurance cargo to cover our exposure and protect the customer.
- Participate on business plan design to create excellence center in region.
- Participate to the marketing tools focusing on sectors, commodities
Business Development Engagement
- Key entry point for BD organization on Global and Regional RFQ’s into Reefer Product
- Participate to international fairs dedicated to temperature-controlled cargo.
- When CEVA have a booth in those exhibitions, participate to the booth design and organization/invitation for CEVA attendees.
- Alignment with BD organization that strategical trade lanes are focused by BD organization for development.
- Support BD in strategic trade lane development
- Participate to workshop to explain in details special capabilities/capacities of CEVA reefer product
Reefer Team leader
- As Global Head of reefer, responsible for the reefer team’s performance & deliverables
- Responsible for clear alignment is Reefer roles & responsibilities and division of workload among team members.
- Responsible to keep the team moral high and delivery of results in lines with Reefer Product strategy and plans.
- Create a reefer team building by sending reefer monthly update to all CEVA reefer community.
- Master’s Degree in logistics, business or equivalent
- Specific logistics and or multi-national focus
- The role requires a skilled relationship management professional with proven track record (10+ years) in related experience with half of that being in a senior capacity.
- 3+ years commercial negotiations
- Network management experience (5+ years)
- 5+ years minimum experience in global account leader role
- 3+ year minimum positive track record in P&L responsibility
- Mature judgment and decision-making
- C-Level training
- Smart Solution selling experience
