Biology Graduate Program (24 Months)

Our company invites applications for a structured 24-month graduate program at our Discovery Centre in London. This program is designed to provide a blend of rigorous academic knowledge and dynamic commercial exposure for individuals keen on building their career in the field of Biology. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in diverse scientific areas whilst participating in innovative drug discovery projects.

The program will encompass a distinctive project exploring mechanisms related to neurodegenerative diseases, with particular focus on mitochondrial biology, oxidative and ER stress. Participants will employ cutting-edge technologies, ranging from the latest in high-content imaging to molecular biology techniques in combination with high-throughput platforms. Our objective is to generate robust and reliable data that paves the way for breakthroughs in combating neurodegenerative diseases. By strengthening our preclinical drug discovery research and enhancing translational success rates, the work of our program participants will contribute significantly to improving patient lives worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance your understanding of drug discovery, project management, and the broader pharmaceutical industry.
  • Design and execute project-specific in vitro experiments.
  • Deliver, record, and present high-quality, reproducible, and timely experimental data.
  • Understand and apply relevant assays for determining mechanisms of action.
  • Stay updated with the latest literature in this rapidly evolving field.
  • Contribute to laboratory tasks and maintain a team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

Required

  • Completion of a BSc or MSc in a biology-related subject by September 2025 (or within the previous two years).
  • Demonstrated interest and knowledge in neuroscience.
  • Practical experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience with cell culture.
  • Familiarity with a variety of cellular imaging and molecular biology techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong attention to detail in experimental design, data analysis, and analytical skills with an understanding of statistical analysis.

What happens at the end of the 24month scheme?

Throughout the 24-month scheme you will receive guidance and mentoring to not only help you through your current role, but also to prepare you for applications to permanent roles within the organisation, with the aim that you will continue your career journey with our organisation.
