Job Opportunity: Head of Engineering – Staking and Blockchain SoftwareI am currently seeking a highly experienced Head of Engineering on behalf of my client, a leading organization in the blockchain and staking industry. This remote role (European time zone) is an exceptional opportunity to lead engineering efforts, drive innovation, and build a secure, scalable staking platform.Company Overview:Our client is dedicated to developing high-performance blockchain solutions, with a focus on staking and related software services. They are looking for a strategic engineering leader to oversee their technical direction, manage engineering teams, and build strong relationships with key blockchain foundations such as Ethereum.Job Summary:As the Head of Engineering, you will lead software development efforts, focusing on building a secure, high-performance staking platform. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet client needs, foster partnerships, and engage with the broader blockchain community to enhance the organization’s industry presence.Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement a technology-driven strategy that enables competitive advantage and scalability.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of staking and blockchain-related products, ensuring quality, scalability, and security.
• Ensure API services are robust, resilient, and equipped for high-throughput use cases with strong security measures.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, including software engineers, smart contract developers, and tech managers.
• Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within engineering teams.
• Manage the hiring process, performance management, and skill development for engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product managers for resource planning and alignment with business goals.
• Oversee engineering processes, technological stack management, and adoption of best engineering practices.
• Budget planning and resource allocation for engineering to balance performance and strategic objectives.

Community Engagement & Industry Relations:

• Engage with the blockchain community, especially Ethereum, to establish the organization as a leader in blockchain innovation.
• Build relationships with major blockchain protocols, contributing insights and staying informed on staking developments.
• Represent the organization at industry events and conferences, presenting technical insights and participating in panels.
• Collaborate on joint initiatives, technical integrations, and pilot programs with ecosystem partners.

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years of hands-on technical leadership across tech stacks, software architecture, and multi-year technical strategy.
• 5+ years managing high-performing software development teams, including recruiting and talent retention.
• Experience designing and scaling API servers, with expertise in RESTful API design, security, and performance optimization.
• Proven experience in building scalable, high-load, fault-tolerant software systems.
• Strong background in managing senior technical talent, including tech managers and tech leads.
• Deep technical expertise and the ability to dive into complex design and code.
• Experience collaborating with product management to align technology with business goals.
• Expertise in engineering best practices and operational excellence for complex technical products.
• Proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong background in blockchain technology, especially in staking and consensus mechanisms.
• Knowledge of blockchain protocols (Ethereum, Polkadot, Cosmos, etc.) and decentralized applications.
• Experience engaging with blockchain research communities and protocol developers.
• Prior experience in smart contract development and auditing is a plus.
