Join a collaborative team that thrives on insightful analysis and proactive risk management, where your contributions directly shape our success.The role…Join ITV’s Risk and Assurance team and play a vital role in ensuring our governance, risk management, and internal controls are operating effectively. As Head of Internal Audit, you’ll build and lead a new co-sourced internal audit team, bringing this key function in-house and shaping the future of our assurance capabilities.Reporting to our Group Director of Risk and Assurance, you’ll provide independent and objective assurance to the Audit and Risk Committee and senior management, fostering confidence in our control environment. You’ll be pivotal in strengthening ITV’s internal audit function by driving a risk-aware culture and maximising resources with a co-sourced approach. Ready to make an impact?The key day-to-day responsibilities for the role:

  • Manage the transition from our current fully outsourced model to the new co-sourced approach, making sure there’s a smooth handover of knowledge and resources
  • Build and develop the co-sourced Internal Audit team, creating the charter, methods, and framework for internal audit, all in line with industry best practice
  • Develop and execute a risk-based annual internal audit plan, running audits from planning and fieldwork to reporting and follow-up
  • Proactively assess and monitor emerging risks and industry trends
  • Manage the relationship with the external co-sourcing partner, fostering a strong and effective collaboration
  • Prepare and present regular reports to the Audit and Risk Committee, providing clear and concise updates on audit findings and recommendations
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Audit and Risk Committee, senior management and key stakeholders across ITV
  • Effectively manage the internal Audit budget, including the co-sourcing arrangement, ensuring optimal resource allocation
  • Stay Up-to-Date with relevant regulations, industry best practice, and emerging risks

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)…

  • 10+ years in internal audit, with proven experience leading teams
  • You know how to make a co-sourced internal audit model really work, getting the best out of both internal and external teams – ideally, you’ve even set one up
  • Experience of negotiating contracts and managing service level agreements with external providers
  • Experience working with Audit Committees and senior management, Including presenting audit findings and recommendations
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver risk-based audit plans, Including experience of leading the annual risk assessment process
  • Experience in Media and Entertainment with an understanding of the key risks and challenges facing the industry (highly desirable)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and the Audit Committee
  • Proven ability to influence and persuade others, including the ability to challenge management constructively
  • Confident and effective presentation skills
  • Deep knowledge of the IIA Standards and other relevant professional standards and their practical application
  • You’ve got a sharp eye for detail and a knack for solving problems
  • Strong ethical compass and decision making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced media environment and adapt to changing circumstances
