YOUR MISSION

As the Head of People at n8n, you’ll spearhead our mission to create an exceptional people-first culture while scaling the organization for long-term success. You’ll partner with leadership and the People team to architect a high-performance, values-driven environment that drives employee satisfaction and retention, fosters talent growth, and supports rapid scaling across Europe.

1- Empowering Managers and Teams

 Business Partnering: Coach and advise managers on hiring, role scoping, underperformance, dismissals, and organizational design decisions.
 Talent Development: Own career paths, titles, compensation models, and performance retros; drive learning and development initiatives to empower employees to grow.
 Performance Optimization: Implement frameworks to recognize star talent, set team goals, and drive high performance across departments.

2- Leading Recruitment and People Operations

 Recruiting Excellence: Lead a team of 3 in talent acquisition, ensuring robust, inclusive hiring processes; support workload prioritization and set hiring teams up for success.
 People Operations: Support our People Ops team of 1 with onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and office management; create seamless processes that enhance employee engagement.
 Creating a Positive People Experience: Take a PM-style approach to the employee journey, owning the handbook, surveys, and policies to create a smooth, delightful experience for all.

3- Ensuring Compliance and Data-Driven Decision Making

 Analytics and Infrastructure: Maintain high HRIS data quality, own people metrics, and use insights to inform decisions and refine strategies; drive automation wherever possible.
⚖️ Compliance Across Jurisdictions: Ensure compliance with labor laws across our 10+ hiring regions, and support data privacy and security programs.
 Internal Communication: Amplify employee voices to leadership, and ensure company-wide updates are clear, accessible, and well-understood by all.

4- Building Our Culture and Future

 Revisiting Values and Culture: Regularly review and refresh our company values to keep them relevant and authentic; instill an “n8n-y” personality that resonates throughout the organization.
 Developing Career Frameworks: Build tailored career progression frameworks for departments (e.g., Engineering, Sales) to set clear development paths and strengthen retention.
⏲️ Tracking & Efficiency Systems: Implement time-tracking where required, and ensure compliance and process efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have

Experience Scaling Teams: You have experience navigating the complex growth phase from 50 to 150 employees.
Leadership Acumen: You bring 10+ years of experience, including 3+ years in a senior people role, and you know how to manage, mentor, and motivate a team.
Remote Work Expertise: You’re adept at crafting people programs for a fully remote or hybrid workforce, with a keen understanding of remote-first best practices.
Data-Driven Decision Maker: You’re analytical, data-driven, and metrics-focused, making decisions based on insights from HR metrics.
⚖️ Compliance Knowledge: You understand European labor laws and are confident ensuring compliance across multiple countries.

Diverse Background: You’ve had experience in other functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Product) and bring a unique perspective to People leadership.
Engineering Culture Fit: Experience in engineering-focused organizations would be an asset.
Startup Resilience: You’re no stranger to the fast pace and occasional ambiguity of a startup environment, thriving in high-growth, dynamic teams.
Cultural Architect: You’re skilled at crafting and maintaining company culture, especially in rapidly scaling teams.
Tech-Savvy: Experience with modern HRIS, automation tools, and talent analytics platforms is a big plus.
