We have an exciting opening for a HSE Improvement Manager due to internal mobility. This role involves leading the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental improvement programs across the North West & Central Region. We seek an outstanding leader with exceptional organizational and communication skills to support regional routes in implementing the Workforce Safety strategy via various Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives.About us:Network Rail operates and maintains the railway infrastructure 24/7 365 days a year. Performance, safety and getting the fundamental basics right, is something we strive for as well as asking ourselves – what can we do to put our passengers and freight users at the centre of everything we do?You will be part of the North West & Central Region (NW&C) which consist of three routes – North West, Central and West Coast South – and a regional team supporting Regional Major Programmes & Professional services.To find out more about us –We offer hybrid working – with the requirement to be in the office two/three days a week.About the role (External)Every day will be different, but you can expect to be involved in the following activities:1. Support the provision of world-class strategic safety, health and environment vision, culture and leadership across the region, leading on improvement projects.2. Monitor key metrics for driving continuous improvement, learning and organisation culture change programmes and projects to deliver improvements in the ways of working across the region.3. Lead and develop stakeholder engagement for safety improvement with both internal and external stakeholders (including the Technical Authority etc.) Office of Road and Rail Regulator, Department for Transport, other UK, and international bodies.4. Provide input to and support the delivery of the regional strategy for health, safety and environment and cultural improvement across the Region and act as Business Partner for Capital Delivery Director and the Route Directors.5. Promote effective working by communicating good practice and identifying opportunities for innovation through industry research and benchmarking.6. Co-ordinate regional health, safety, and environment improvement initiatives in line with business needs and specific regional requirements.7. Support the development of cultural behavioural changes required to deliver the region’s health, safety and environmental strategy.In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:
