Actively Hiring a Phlebotomist in Manhattan!Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist with a minimum of 2 years of recent professional phlebotomy experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient with straight needles and comfortable performing venipunctures independently from day one. Reliability, punctuality, and strong communication skills are essential for this role. The candidate must also have knowledge of different tubes used in specimen collection.Responsibilities

• Performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information.
• Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures.
• Explaining the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrating techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test orders.
• Checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Packaging specimens for transport.
• Storing specimen samples at the required temperature, placing samples in the appropriate collection container/tube, accurately labeling, and following specific procedures to maintain the integrity of the specimen for transport.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of recent professional phlebotomy experience.
• Proficiency with straight needles and performing venipunctures independently.
• Knowledge of different tubes used in specimen collection.
• Reliable, punctual, with strong communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Work EnvironmentThe role involves working at a Patient Service Center (PSC) in Manhattan, performing 30-50 blood draws per day. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm, with every other Saturday from 9am-3pm.**For immediate consideration please reach out to (631) 813-9485**Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 – $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
