A well known laboratory is seeking a Medical Technologist, to join their team on the evening shift in Brooklyn! This is an excellent opportunity for growth, that offers competitive pay, as well as 199 union benefits.Job Description:

• The Medical Technologist performs qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the station assigned.
• The Technologist will have an understanding of the principles of tests performed and working knowledge of the equipment used in the station which they are assigned.
• Specifically working in hematology responsible for urinalysis, coagulation and spinal counts.
• Ensure that all specimens are put in appropriate storage.
• Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results.
• Recognize critical or life-threatening results,, verify results, and report to the appropriate clinician
• Document all results in the LIS.
• Shift: Evening, 4pm – 12am with rotating weekends (Will train on day shift to start)

Qualifications:

• 0 – 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
• ASCP Certification
• Hematology/Chemistry experience
• Reading differentials
