An environment based on a commitment to diversity and inclusion supports our goal of safe and quality patient care.Who you areYou have a worked as a Geriatrician for a minimum of 1 year.You possess a Medical Degree from a recognized medical school and postgraduate studies (residency) in the field of Geriatrics.You possess a valid license to practice medicine in New Brunswick through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (CPSNB), and Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Candidates with Royal College eligibility may be considered.Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level. Bilingual skills would be considered an asset.What you will doReporting to the Geriatrics Department Head and the Medical Director for the area, the Geriatrician collaborates with other Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered, Nurses, and other Allied Medical Staff.A typical weekly schedule will include:

• Accept geriatric referrals from primary health care professionals.
• Perform clinical duties including, but not restricted to, seeing patients for routine health and illness care, prescribing treatment, arranging consults, referring to other healthcare professionals as required, and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
• Practice in a collaborative fashion as a member of an interdisciplinary team and consult with members of other health professions as appropriate.
• Within the confines of this scope of practice and position description, provide other duties that may arise by circumstance and may be assigned by the Chief of the Department of Family Medicine, the Chief of Staff, Medical Director and/or Vice President of Medical Affairs.
