You will perform a variety of tasks which involve making the NGIS a home away from home for our valued guests. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our Military patrons and their families.So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?o Assists the GM in operating a professional Department of Defense (DoD) lodging operation consistent with those services and amenities provided in a commercial midgrade hotel for guests in a Temporary Duty TDY Permanent Change of Station PCS or Leisure status.o Provide excellent customer service to our valued and honored guests.o Provides program oversight and participates in improvement efforts to include Mystery Shop Calls, review of customer response results, and room inspections, to ensure program standards are maintained.o Performs management internal controls (MIC), reviewing and developing internal controls to prevent loss and improve cost saving measures.The Qualifiers:o 3 years of experience in administrative technical or other responsible work which enable applicant to gain general knowledge of operational practices.ü May substituted one year of academic study above the high school level in a hotel/lodging/hospitality school for 6 months of general experience.o 1 year of responsible experience that provided an in-depth knowledge of hotel/motel or institutional management or other related service industry management and operations.ü Experience should include background in most of the following: procurement of supplies and equipment, operational efficiency, sanitation, internal finance controls, budgeting, staffing, room design, and decorating or similar work.o Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.The Benefits begin DAY ONE:We know you work hard, and cultivate the very best solutions for your family – and that’s why we offer a competitive federal salary & comprehensive benefit plan.o Benefits begin on DAY ONEü Medical/Vision & Dentalü 401(k) & Pension Planü Life & Disability Insuranceü Sick and annual leave accrualsü Tuition reimbursement programü Continuity of Employment Programs for Military Spousesü Tax Free shopping, worldwide, at any Navy Exchange locationü Access to on-base amenities, including lodging, bowling, gym, movie theaters, & much more (where available)!ü Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)**Includes LifeMart Discount Savings ProgramQualificationsA total of 4 years of experience consisting of the followingGENERAL EXPERIENCE3 years of experience in administrative technical or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge of operational practices and procedures skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships and the ability to exercise mature judgment.OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION OF EXPERIENCE1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4year bachelors degree for 3 years of general experience.AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCEOne year of responsible experience that provided an in-depth knowledge of hotel/motel or institutional management or other related service industry management and operations. Such experience should include background in most of the following procurement of supplies and equipment operational efficiency sanitation internal finance controls budgeting staffing room design and decorating or similar work which demonstrated the knowledge and abilities of the operational area.
