SummaryWhat you’ll doAs a not-for-profit housing organisation providing more affordable homes for Londoners, we’re looking now for people to join us as Housing Officers to help us to provide good quality homes to our residents that allow them to live well and feel safe. As our residents are at the core of everything that we do, we are looking for people who have a real interest in people and a passion for delivering excellent service.How you’ll do itAs a Housing Officer, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing our residents’ overall experience of living in one or our homes. You’ll foster a strong local presence, ensuring residents know you by name, by being readily available and proactive.Specific duties will include:

  • Actively listen to residents, promptly addressing any issues related to their property or living experience
  • Collaborate with internal repairs and planned colleagues to maintain excellent places and plan and deliver improvements
  • Collaborate with residents, managing agents, contractors, and internal colleagues to collectively solve resident problems such as repairs, cleaning, and grounds maintenance, are executed with excellence, taking ownership until resolution
  • Set and manage service charges, ensuring fairness and transparency
  • Collaborate with building or property managers to enhance the resident experience

Please note this role will be based in the community – visiting the properties that you manage, and in office.The Ideal CandidateAs you’ll be the main point of contact for your residents, you will need to be approachable, friendly, and committed to providing a great service as well as being ready to help and provide support to your residents. Our Housing Officers are busy, so you will need to be flexible, resilient and able to easily switch from one task to another as priorities can quickly change throughout the day. You’ll be proactive and customer-focused with the ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences.Essential:

  • Customer service experience including developing customer relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise accordingly, capable of quickly switching from one task to another
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel

Desirable

  • Previous housing experience
