Everyone at Rotman, faculty and staff, plays a role in bringing that promise to life.Your opportunity:Under the general direction of the Director, HR, and the indirect supervision of the HR Consultants, the HR Coordinator is responsible for the monthly and bi-weekly payroll function for administrative employees at the Rotman School of Management.The HR Coordinator provides interpretation, guidance and oversees the enrolment of academic and administrative employees in the various University pension and benefit plans. The incumbent maintains up to date knowledge of benefit and pension plans, acts as a resource person for employees and responds to a variety of benefit inquiries, providing advice, investigating and resolving problems.The incumbent schedules and conducts orientation sessions for all appointed staff. They provide advice on complex payroll and salary administration issues, and interprets related human resources policies, procedures and legislation on a regular basis, referring to central benefits/payroll/pension specialists as appropriate.The incumbent oversees the administration of the HRIS system, and human resource/payroll documentation, attendance tracking in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), data management, data integrity as well as the provision of timely and accurate HRIS reports to the Director, HR, the CAO, members of the Finance team and various clients (on a per request basis). The incumbent is involved in several HRIS projects relating to administrative processes, HR Analytics, and their impact on how employee information is captured/tracked for particular employment groups.In addition to the data integrity within HRIS, the HR Coordinator has the overall responsibility for the records management of the employee, benefits and payroll files that are stored in the Human Resources Department that must be in compliance with legislation (FIPPA primarily). As part of the HR team, works closely with others, maintaining a high level of confidentiality. In addition, the HR Coordinator is responsible for process improvements to enhance efficiencies within the administration of payroll, pension and benefits.Essential Qualifications:

  • EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Human Resources Professional, Payroll and/or Benefits designation would be considered an asset.

  • EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 years HRIS experience using HRIS (SAP preferred) to process bi-weekly and monthly payroll. Minimum 3 years experience administering HR processes, payroll, pensions, benefits and attendance provisions of collective agreements, and Academic/PM/Confidential terms and conditions of employment. Experience generating statistical reports from HRIS. Experience managing employee records. Experience working in a confidential setting. Experience dealing effectively with a diverse group of clients in difficult or sensitive situations.

  • SKILLS:

Knowledge of payroll, pension, benefits, tax and records management policies, procedures, applications and related legislation. Knowledge of human resources best practices and employment legislation. Keyboarding skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Experience with HRIS an asset.

  • OTHER:
