HR Generalist

Duties:

Coordinates, administers, and assists with Human Resource activities for the hourly workforce. Responsibilities include benefits administration, personnel filing, training and development, and maintaining positive employee relations.

  • Maintains visibility and accessibility to all employees.

  • Conducts regular shop employee touchpoints on a regular basis

  • Follow up with new hires on questions/concerns in their first 30/60/90 days

  • Ensures high level of integrity is maintained and that personnel matters are handled in a professional, confidential and discreet manner.

  • Uses Timekeeping systems to answer questions for employees and managers. Utilizes various computer platforms for hourly hiring, terminations, update safety trainings, attendance program, etc.

  • Assists in managing company leave programs such as Short Term Disability, FMLA, Military, and Personal Leaves of Absences.

  • Performance/improvement tracking

  • Reviews I-9 and maintains documentation

  • Conducts new employee onboarding

  • Distributes 10/20/30 day review sheets for job transfers and saves to personnel file when completed and returned

  • Distributes hourly employee hiring packets and tracks the return of forms.

  • Enters all hourly new hire information HR systems

  • Termination Process – sends out IT notice, benefits separation paperwork, and coordinates/collects all company property.

  • Saves the call-in to the HR-Share-Attendance-Year folder – company-wide

  • Maintains daily attendance program and sends out attendance warnings notices for shop employees in the facility.

  • Conducts Benefit Reviews for all shop employees at the 45 day mark

  • Assists with Benefits OPEN ENROLLMENT meetings and tracks returned forms.

  • Assists with annual safety trainings, per the direction of the Safety Manager

  • Puts up bulletin postings for job openings, newsletters and other Human Resource Communications.

  • Cross-trains with HR staff when directed

  • Maintain regular attendance to ensure timely processing of payments

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years in a human resources related profession such as a Human Resources clerk or assistant.

• Positive Employee Relations, union experience/manufacturing setting helpful

• Associates Degree preferred or equivalent in experience and knowledge

Work Environment

The HR Generalist will work closely with the hourly workforce, ensuring a visible and accessible presence. This role requires regular interaction with shop employees and new hires, conducting benefit reviews, and assisting with various HR programs and processes.
