Job Title: Phlebotomist(First-Shift)Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature and protocol.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
• Update patient information accurately.

Essential Skills

• Experience in blood draw, phlebotomy, and venipuncture.
• Certified Phlebotomist with active IL phlebotomy certification.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab, ambulatory setting, or hospital setting.
• Experience with high draw volume.
• Experience with newborn/pediatric draws.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 – $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
