We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to assume the position of Indoor Facilities Maintainer with the Community Services Department.Reporting to the Facilities Manager, and under the direct supervision of the Indoor Facilities Supervisor and Assistant Indoor Facilities Supervisor the position performs a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance and operation of the Multiplex, Yellowknife Community Arena, Somba K’e Civic Center, the Lakeview Cemetery, City Hall, Wildcat Café, Parks Shop, meeting rooms, Fieldhouse, Curling Club, Heritage Sites, Monuments and all other facilities as assigned.The successful incumbent must possess a high school diploma, and a valid Class 5 NWT Driver’s Licence. Completion of Arena Level 1 & 2 certification, and current CPR and AED (defibrillators) certification are also required. The incumbent must have the ability to work independently and have previous experience working with the public. Knowledge of ice-making and ice maintenance, recreation facility maintenance, minor equipment and machinery repair and experience in the construction of parks and playgrounds would be an assetThe City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $77,811, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including a defined benefit pension plan, and monthly housing and vacation travel allowances totaling $450.
