Industrial Placement Student· Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday – Friday· Ref No: HRJOB10159· Business Unit: Almac Sciences· Location: Edinburgh, United Kingdom· Open To: Candidates studying towards a Chemistry based degree, with successful completion in 2 years by the end of this academic year.The PlacementThis 12-month industrial placement will give a student the opportunity to perform high quality peptide chemistry for our clients to agreed timelines. The student will carry out development projects, contract manufacture projects and gram scale synthesis. Working as part of a project team, the postholder will carefully plan and carry out their work safely, and document and communicate their methods and results accurately.In addition to the above activities, you may be required to carry out an Industrial Placement Project as a requirement of your degree courseAs part of a busy team within a rapidly growing organisation, operating within a challenging industry you will benefit from the numerous personal and professional developmental opportunities available throughout the Almac group.Essential Criteria
- 5 GCSE (or equivalent) passes, grades A-C, in Mathematics and English Language
- Educated to A Level standard or equivalent
- Currently studying a Chemistry based degree with successful completion in 2 years by the end of this academic year
Desirable Criteria(The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exists)
- 3 A Levels at grade A-C or equivalent
- An overall result of ≥60% from your previous academic year.
- Completion of a peptide chemistry module as part of an undergraduate degree
- Previous laboratory experience within industry or educational institution.
