Job Title: Information Assurance ManagerSalary: The starting salary is £51,196, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.The salary is broken down as £48,355 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,730. Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.Location: Hendon, Lambeth, and Kilburn. Blended Working.   • Enables data sharing and collaboration to serve the public and external partners.

Job PurposeThe Information Assurance Unit is the focal point in the MPS for all Information Assurance, Security and Risk matters. The unit provides advice on Information Assurance, Security and Risk and ensures implementation of all necessary policies, procedures, and other measures in compliance with the NPCC Community Security Policy and National Codes of Connection for Police systems and other appropriate standards. The unit is also responsible for the development and implementation of information security policies and procedures in accordance with:

  • The

(SPF) * Security standards, produced by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and obtained via the Police Digital Service (PDS)

  • The College of Policing’s Authorised Professional Practice (APP) for Information Assurance;
  • National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) standards
  • The business needs of the Met

Key Role ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be assigned to the following areas:

  • System Assurance
  • Physical Security
  • Procurement Assurance

The successful candidate will be expected over time to demonstrate aptitude in all areas of Information Assurance, including:

  • Assurance of local information systems
  • Providing information security advice to the wider organisation
  • Providing information assurance input to Procurement Services
  • Undertaking Physical Security Inspections
  • Development and implementation of information security policies and procedures in accordance with the Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework (SPF), National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Police Digital Service.

  • The ability to work effectively within a team.

Desirable Criteria

  • Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP)
  • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor
  • Any relevant risk or audit qualification
  • 2 years’ experience in Information Security, Information Assurance, IT Security, Information Systems, or related risk assessment disciplines
