THE POSITION
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and knowledge in the information technology (IT) field?  If so, look no further!  The Health and Human Services (HHS) IT Delivery Center provides end-to-end IT services to all staff in the Department of Human Services (DHS), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA).  We are seeking an ambitious Information Technology Generalist 1 to provide on-site support to HHS departments regarding IT infrastructure, devices, and applications.  Take charge of your future and apply today!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Information Technology Generalist 1, you will provide crucial on-site IT support for the Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (OMHSAS), Norristown State Hospital as well as providing on-site IT support in the surrounding counties to DHS and DOH offices.

Primary responsibilities include the troubleshooting maintenance and support of Norristown State Hospital’s numerous IT systems.  Within this role, you will also provide desktop IT support, mobile device management, network support, asset management and pbx/telephony support.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up, to 2 days per week.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown State Hospital.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.  Selected candidates, who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary (before taxes) of $58,035.00.

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or
One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
