We are now recruiting for an infrastructure/DevOps Engineer for our UK team to provide vital upgrades to our existing estate and to help us build the next generation of the platform. You will be a hands-on specialist working alongside a team of industry experts and software engineers (analysts, designers, developers). You will be working primarily with teams in London and Belgium, as well as Montreal and Los Angeles. Occasional travel may be required to between the UK and Belgium.This position requires 5+ years of experience in building, maintaining and troubleshooting IT infrastructure in public Cloud (mostly Azure), and extensive experience working with cross-functional development teams and customer support. A willingness and ability to work with a variety of different characters and personalities is vital.Successful candidates will need to ensure the stable operation, scalability, ongoing support, and planning of new and existing IT infrastructure. You will also be required to work with, and alongside, other teams to explore solutions to meet the ongoing challenge of providing the best customer experience. You will have experience with scripting languages and be familiar with the concepts of Continuous Integration/Deployment, or open to learning such skills quickly.What you will do

  • Build and maintain Azure Cloud environments (covering installation, security, reliability, and updates).
  • Build and maintain Kubernetes clusters across multiple Cloud providers (e.g. Azure, Hetzner, etc.) as well as on-premise.
  • Build and maintain database clusters for SQL Server and Postgresql.
  • Create and maintain Infrastructure-as-code scripts optimized for cost effectiveness.
  • Ensuring server performance is optimal, and that appropriate monitoring and alerting is in place.
  • Planning for growth and continuous improvement of existing environments to meet capacity and stability needs.
  • Maintaining, documenting and executing an infrastructure roadmap as technology evolves.
  • Partner with Development in implementing a CI/CD process for multiple environments.
  • Understand the need to work some evenings and weekends to reflect the nature of our industry and geo-dispersed team.

RequirementsYou should have

  • Experience with Microsoft technologies: Azure, Endpoint Manager, Azure AD, SQL Server, IIS, etc.
  • Experience with building and managing database clusters (e.g. SQL Server, Postgresql, ClickHouse, StarRocks, etc.), including replication, backup and high-availability.
  • Experience with building and managing Kubernetes clusters.
  • Experience with networking, firewall, storage, message bus, and hosting solutions.
  • Experience with backup, DR, and resiliency testing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Good people, communication and documentation skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work off-hours as needed.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, automatization products (e.g. PowerShell, Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, etc.) and CI/CD technologies (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Great if you have

  • Experience working with smaller public Cloud providers (e.g. Hetzner, Civo, etc.)
  • Experience working with Open Source data processing and storage technologies (e.g. ClickHouse, Postgresql, Apache Arrow, Apache SuperSet, Dagster, NATS, etc.)
  • Experience working with the .NET development stack.
