Position Description
The Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health studies the frequency, distribution, and determinants of disease in humans, a fundamental science of public health. In addition to pursuing ground-breaking global research initiatives, we educate and prepare future medical leaders and practitioners as part of our mission to ignite positive changes in the quality of health across the world.
The instructor title is reserved for individuals who make substantial contributions to the school’s teaching programs and who do not already hold an academic appointment that would allow them to teach at the school. The instructor will lead the Spring 2025 course on ‘Research Synthesis & Meta-analysis’ ( EPI 233).
Additional responsibilities will include:
Review current curriculum and make adjustments as needed
Review and update homework, quizzes, exams, and course content for Spring 2025 course
Review and hire Teaching Fellow team
Lead lectures during the Spring term
Grading of all assignments with teaching fellow team
Provide weekly office hours
Meet with department leadership as issues or questions arise
Respond to student emails in timely manner
Complete all grading by HSPH Deadlines
*Potential for reappointment based on course evaluations & department approval on an annual basis

1-3 years of teaching experience at the graduate level

Preferred Experience and Skills Requirements
Managerial experience
Additional Information: Per university payroll tax guidelines all applicants must reside in an acceptable payroll states or be willing to relocate to: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maryland, Vermont or New York.
