Interim Part-Time Accountant | 3-Month Contract, Flexible Working, Immediate Start | ExeterWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our client’s finance team on an interim basis for a period of up to three months. This role offers flexibility (likely three days per week) and is ideal for someone with strong management accounting skills who can provide immediate support in financial reporting and forecasting.Key Responsibilities of the Interim Part-Time Accountant:

• Management Accounts & Reporting – Review/prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and monthly reporting packs to ensure financial accuracy
• Review of Finance Processes – Full review and improvement of finance processes to ensure enhanced efficiency
• Revenue & Billing Cycle Oversight – Produce monthly revenue analysis, take ownership of the billing cycle, and ensure revenue is accounted for correctly
• Journals & Reconciliations – Manage accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue, and ensure precise journal postings
• Payroll & Compliance – Oversee company payroll, statutory requirements, and ensure compliance with PAYE, VAT, and Corporation Tax obligations
• Budgeting & Forecasting – Assist with annual budgets, quarterly re-forecasts, and provide financial insights to department heads
• Credit Control & Cash Flow – Oversee credit control, manage cash flow, and liaise with client account managers as needed
• Audit & Compliance Support – Maintain the asset register, liaise with company auditors, and ensure compliance with all statutory obligations
• Finance Team Leadership – Manage and support a Finance Assistant, providing guidance and training as required

What We’re Looking For in the Interim Part-Time Accountant:

• Part or Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with experience in management accounting
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and revenue recognition
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and proactively within a fast-paced environment
