Join the 2,600+ professionals of Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) who connect Minnesotans to services that will improve their lives. This position will be part of the Cannabis Expungement Board (CEB) team, which delivers a full suite of IT services to the Cannabis Expungement Board.
As an IT Advanced Project Manager, you will to formally project manage the development, enhancement or retirement of complex information technology & business area solutions, systems, processes and services delivered on a statewide basis. Included are technologies that span the complete spectrum of IT systems solutions and processes to support, and enhance foundation infrastructure, services, systems in support of the Cannabis Expungement Board (CEB). You will be the focal point for project and/or program initiation, planning, execution, control and closure using industry best practices for service/systems creation and development and generally accepted standards outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and by MNIT.
This position will ensure quality and consistency across multiple projects in the use of project planning, scheduling, scope and risk management, status reporting, change control, issues resolution and other project management controls and practices. The end goal of the position is the successful delivery of projects in a consistent and documented manner.
This position is temporary and includes full state fringe benefits; it is anticipated to last three (3) years.
This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:
Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.
Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in performing IT project management functions.
Experience must include:
Experience reporting on project activities during all phases of the project lifecycle.
Experience managing all aspects of the design, development, and implementation it IT projects.
Experience with procurement planning, solicitation planning, and contract administration.
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent facilitation skills and comfortable working with executive level leaders.
Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to proactively plan and anticipate challenges, project risks or issues, and effectively manage and lead change.
Detail oriented, highly organized, adaptive and persistent.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or other project management certification.
Familiarity with the Criminal Justice and Corrections.
Ability to translate intricate technical matters into accessible language, including the ability to discern and articulate the business significance and consequences of diverse technical solutions to MNIT leadership and CEB business stakeholders, facilitating informed decision making.
