As an IT Security Engineer within PNC’s Tempus Technologies organization, you may be based in a remote location. This is a remote position. Work may be performed from a quiet, confidential space in a home location, approved by PNC. This position may not be available in all geographic locations.

As an IT Security Engineer, you should have a strong technical background in information security, with an expertise in designing, implementing, and managing security solutions to protect our organization’s infrastructure, applications, and data assets. Responsibilities include:
• Security Infrastructure Design: Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure components such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, SIEM solutions, and endpoint security tools to safeguard our IT environment.
• Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify security weaknesses and vulnerabilities in systems, applications, and networks, and work with relevant teams to remediate them.
• Security Monitoring: Monitor security logs and alerts generated by security tools and systems, investigate, and analyze security incidents, and escalate as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
• Identity and Access Management (IAM): Implement and manage IAM solutions to ensure that access to systems and data is appropriately controlled and monitored according to security policies and compliance requirements.
• Security Policy and Compliance: Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Security Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of security configurations, procedures, and incidents, and prepare regular reports and metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of security controls and initiatives.
• Emerging Threat Monitoring: Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and trends, and assess their potential impact on our organization, providing recommendations for proactive mitigation.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, development, and business units, to integrate security requirements into projects and initiatives and ensure a secure-by-design approach.

Due to the nature of the position, we are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
• Proven experience in IT security roles, with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing security solutions in complex IT environments.
• Deep technical knowledge of network security, operating systems, web applications, and cloud technologies.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, antivirus, and vulnerability scanners.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, etc.)

Job Description

• Provides technical evaluation and analysis. Supports activities, process, and tools needed to improve overall security posture of the organization.
• Applies security concepts, reviews information, executes defined tasks, analyzes requirements, reviews logs, and creates documentation. Performs investigation and data loss prevention, data manipulation, and coordination of activities. Performs actions to address or mitigate risks and vulnerabilities. Reviews and defines controls.
• Advises on more complex security procedures and products for clients, security administrators and network operations. Participates in enforcement of control security risks and threats; potential of one more controls subject to manager discretion. Shares knowledge with staff.
• Conducts security assessments and other information security routines consistently. Investigates and recommends corrective actions for data security related to established guidelines.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $55,000.00 – $160,000.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education.
