Find out more at .For more information about our privacy policy and how to manage cookies, visit our .Position: Junior Cloud DevOps EngineerPrevious experience: Exposure to cloud platform offerings and services (Azure or AWS preferably)Location: Derry / Londonderry, Northern Ireland – Hybrid (3 days at the office)Employment type: Full-time regular (flexible working options available)Benefits: Competitive salary; flexible benefits fund which can be utilised against over 20 benefits; BUPA private medical; pension scheme with up to 9% employer contribution; life insurance; income protection insurance; 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays); 3 days paid volunteering.The jobAs part of the Research and Development function, the global Cloud DevOps team combines software development and cloud operations to provide continuous integration and delivery of cloud-enabled products and solutions. Responsible for deployment and continuous monitoring to ensure various cloud-specific customer requirements/SLAs are met.As a Cloud Operations Engineer you will utilise your skills to continually improve and develop AVEVA’s Cloud solutions, including release and deployment processes and pipelines, enhancing and supporting our security and monitoring capabilities, and diagnosing and resolving cloud infrastructure incidents to optimise uptime and allow us to scale through repeatable and standardised work practices.Key responsibilities

  • Provide timely and effective response to incidents to minimise the impact on our customers and keep colleagues updated as required.
  • Work with development teams to advise and contribute to improvements to operational stability, security, cost management and reporting requirements for our cloud solutions.
  • Continually develop and improve DevOps processes, adding value through optimisation, automation and effective reporting.
  • Proactively manage cloud environments to minimise service impacting issues, including infrastructure as code, certificates, storage, health status, backup status etc.
  • The global, 24×7 nature of the team means there may be a requirement for occasional work outside of the standard day and to be on call as part of a shared team rota which covers the UK working hours (9am – 5:30pm).

Ideal experienceFrom most to least important:

  • Exposure to a cloud computing platform, preferably Azure or AWS
  • Completed a placement as part of a software development team
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell
  • A keen interest in automation and improving processes
