Retail Media are responsible for significant revenue generation within the company, and we’re expanding our engineering teams to meet our commercial & technology targets.We’re hiring for multiple roles within our Retail Media space, with the main area of focus being on the integration of a third party platform that will power our on-site advertising initiative.As a Frontend Software Engineer, you will help drive our architecture & technical deliveries by writing highly scalable and testable code, supporting your peers & challenging our teams to strive for excellence. We work closely with a large number of other teams, with inner-sourced development as our standard way of working. In our organisation ownership is one of our core engineering principles – we write it and we own it. Engineers are expected to take responsibility for their work, including being part of an on-call rota to ensure the reliability of the system that we’re building.These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Working closely with others to deliver technical solutions within expected timeframes.
• Working with modern web technologies (for example, modern Javascript tools and frameworks, TypeScript, HTML & CSS).
• Consuming RESTful APIs & using JSON data structures when in appropriate software solutions.
• Knowledge of core programming concepts, such as object oriented principles, component composition & basic programming structures.

What will you bring to the table?

• A willingness to learn & grow within JET – we’ll give you the opportunities & nurturing to take direction and to contribute to the growth of a highly valuable area of JET.
• Foundational frontend development experience, with exposure to React or Vue.
• Foundational understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML, CSS. A bonus would be an understanding of how state management works in modern JS web applications.
• Knowledge of component based & single page application architectures.
• Knowledge of core programming concepts (such as basic structures, object orientated principles, design patterns & design principles).
• Familiarity with version control systems (for example, Github, Gitlab, etc)
• An understanding of cloud service providers & the services that they offer (for example, AWS, Azure or GCP)
