Actalent is hiring a Junior Mechanical Designer for our client in Ottawa!Job Description:

• As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to envision, design, create, and test innovative prototypes at different stages of technological readiness.

• Work with team members to identify project requirements for prototypes and brainstorm solutions.

• Conduct risk assessments and preliminary investigations to determine feasibility, utilizing analytical studies, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Method (FEM), and/or experimental studies.

• Choose and acquire readily available components to construct rapid prototypes.

• Design and manufacture parts and assemblies for swift and operational prototypes.

• Plan experiments and tests to assess the performance of prototypes.

• Examine experimental data and offer design suggestions.

• Compose technical reports, investigations, test plans, and process documents.

• Ensure the health and safety aspects related to all project executions and activities.

Main Requirements:1) 1 – 4 years of professional experience in mechanical design2) Professional experience 3D modeling with SolidWorks3) Experience preparing manufacturing OR 2D drawingsSTRONG NICE TO HAVE – exposure to GD&T annotation and/or basic stress analysisWorking With ActalentActalent is a worldwide leader in engineering consulting talent solutions.
