.We are looking to welcome a Kitchen Sales Assistant to join our amazing sales team in Nottingham.Are you passionate about design and love helping people bring their dream kitchens to life? At IKEA Nottingham, we’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Kitchen Sales Assistants. You’ll get to meet amazing customers, understand their needs, and help them plan the perfect kitchen.   • Start date of 10th November 2024
  • £12 hourly rate. This is starting rate during training, moving to a salary once fully trained.
  • Living Wage Foundation Employer.
  • 30 hours working 5 days out of 7, including 3 out of 4 weekends & 2 late shifts per week. Once fully trained can move to alternative weekends.
  • Working hours are between 9:30am to 21:30pm.
  • Flexibility on availability to be discussed during interviews.
  • Kitchen training program to became a Kitchen Sales Specialist.

  • You have knowledge of the customer’s activity needs and solutions for their Life at Home and have an enthusiastic willingness to learn the IKEA range, including the wide range of service products.
  • You have the ability to drive sales, high numeracy and computer literacy skills so that you can learn, understand and utilizse complex systems & selling tools.
  • The ability to pro-actively build a rapport and follow-up with your own customers
  • The right attitude and behaviour to inspire and actively sell the IKEA kitchen product range.
  • Understand and utilise complex systems and selling tools.
  • Confident use of phone and email use to reach out to confirmed customers (no cold calling).

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAYOur aim is to efficiently impact our standards, retail foundation, SISAN with consistency throughout especially when our customer is involved, as well as supporting in giving the best customer experience to any person who walks through our doors- no matter how big or small their project.

  • You will pro-actively interact with customers & provide excellent 1-1 customer service for a sustained period of time during the appointments.
  • You actively engage with our customers to identify their needs and how to inspire and advise them on the best solutions for their life at home through home furnishings.
  • You are always passionate about the range and home furnishings, curious to learn the stories behind the products and their design and actively share this with the customer.
  • You support maximizing sales by being proud of your areas of responsibility, ensuring the customer meets an area that is clean, well presented and easy to shop.
  • You provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.

Once fully trained

  • Kitchen Planning & Designing for up to 2 hours with an additional 30-60 minutes to provide accurate plans, worktop and installation quotations for the customer.
  • Support with responding to the customer emails, securing payments both in store and remotely.
  • Calling your future appointments to secure the bookings, using a pre-call/ needs analysis routine in order to find out as much information as you can to support the customer as well as providing the customer with insight into how to measure their room and set expectations.
  • You are competent with IT to use planning tools, Microsoft office, using the internet and relevant programmes to support selling to the customer.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION – Kitchen training

  • Kitchen School – Highly detailed training of the kitchen business and the opportunity to get on a salary once completed.
  • CAD Experience and design experience.
  • Understanding of Sales KPI’s.
  • Customer Service skills.
  • Confidence in yourself.
  • Opportunity to develop yourself within the business.
