We are passionate about rewarding excellence and helping people to grow, both personally and professionally, during their time with us.If you are looking for opportunities within a progressive, innovative, and nurturing organisation; and have the energy, passion, and commitment to deliver excellence, we would love to hear from you.We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Lab Maintenance & Equipment Engineer within our growing Engineering Compliance Team.In a nutshell you will be responsible for:Main responsibility is to support and supplement the New product Development & Current Product Development teams, and other departments, by managing & maintaining the lab equipment (including calibration), performing/supporting Design Verification Testing (DVT), and any other lab testing required, as well as supporting other design & development activities. These requirements are spread across New Product Development, New Product Introduction (purchased products) and Current Product Development as required.What you are already great at:

  • Manage & maintain the lab equipment & test rigs
  • Perform/arrange maintenance on the lab rigs & test equipment as required.
  • Perform/arrange & maintain regular calibration of lab rigs/test equipment.
  • Ensure adherence of health & safety in the lab.
  • Perform & support product testing as required to meet the business needs
  • Aid development of in-house tests to suit varying criteria.
  • Perform testing/evaluation of products to relevant internal & external standards as required.
  • Manage & perform design & build of R&D test rigs.
  • Support warranty/audit testing as required.
  • Provide feedback on test results & any issues encountered, and work with other departments to offer an opinion on product suitability.
  • Assist with creation & maintenance of DVT test templates.
  • Write & review test reports, and ensure reports are filed correctly for future ref.
  • Design & development support
  • Assist with basic modifications/machining of prototypes in house
  • Provide guidance for production test rigs where required
  • Assist with problem solving as required.
  • Provide technical support as required.
  • Provide feedback to other departments as required.
  • Deliver the safety agenda of the company
  • Think safety.
  • Take ownership for all accident reporting affecting you or your co-workers.
  • Identify potentials and report.
  • Fulfill other duties as required
  • Pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role.

For this role we would need you to demonstrate:Experience: * Engineering qualification in relevant engineering discipline to HND level or above.

  • Proven track record in product testing & rig maintenance.
  • Practical experience of using workshop equipment such as lathes/mills etc.
  • Ability to build prototypes and test products in the lab.
  • Basic understanding of 2D technical drawings
  • Experience of working in a high performance and fast paced environment.
  • Experience of working to deadlines
  • An affinity for engineering with a desire to understand how things work

Skills:

  • Good understanding of test procedures & equipment.
  • Basic understanding of how showering products work.
  • Basic excel & word skills.
  • Good plumbing skills (incl. plumbing best practices).
  • Good instrumentation knowledge.
  • Basic electrical safety & wiring skills.
  • Able to prioritise for the business benefit.
  • Applies process and common sense to get to desired outcomes.
  • High standards on quality, responsive to teams around them.
  • Effective communication skills – Ensure timely sharing of information.
