You will be poised to play a pivotal role in the Certification and vehicle type approval for all JLR products presented for sale to our customers, in the India market.You will be instrumental in leading the necessary planning & certification delivery, in line with the latest regulatory requirements, to ensure compliance with standards. You will conduct ‘worst-casing’ with the in-market authority representatives and gain agreement with the JLR Engineering teams to the plan demanded. You will be the lead for the witness testing in UK, ensuring management of the personnel from overseas authority teams, and ensure completion on time, in line with programme delivery expectations.Your mission? To manage ongoing controls to ensure Product Certification and Product Compliance is maintained. You will prepare technical applications, using resources and data provided by teams across Engineering, ready for submission on time, in line with the regulatory standards.Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Lead in the achievement of the Certification Delivery planning for JLR products sold in India. Proactively identify and resolve issues that may adversely affect delivery
  • Plan & coordinate all necessary test work, using the latest regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with standards; conduct worst casing to agree on a required plan. Organise engineering and test teams to deliver their responsibilities for certification, and ensure all pre-testing is completed successfully
  • Ensure witness testing is conducted on time, with the necessary representatives to complete planned activities
  • Maintain the ongoing controls for Product Certification, ensuring documentation is managed with accuracy. Operate levels of escalation including communication with all stakeholders for all subjects and certificates
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure engineering and programme certification data is assembled on time, and gather necessary data and documents relating to components, systems and vehicles and store them accurately and securely

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • An Automotive background with a good understanding of components and systems
  • Substantive and practical knowledge of Vehicle Certification for the India Market
  • Substantial experience in Type Approval, Product Legislation and Testing, particularly in Vehicle Safety subjects
  • Absolute accuracy in handling technical data and information. Confident with interpreting technical data across a range of engineering subjects
  • UK valid Driving Licence
