Job description
Position Summary:The Lead Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clinical support for the Primary Care Department as part of Community Health Center Clinical Care Team. In addition to the roles and responsibilities of the Lead Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), the Lead CMA Trainer provides training to all new CMAs on the use of the Electronic Health Record and all related clinical workflows.ResponsibilitiesPrincipal Responsibilities:
- Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers
- Demonstrates commitment to, and understanding of, the CHC’s mission of excellent customer service in all internal and external relationships and in the performance of all duties and responsibilities
- Manages back office workflow, through coordination and troubleshooting with front office staff, to ensure high quality patient care services
- Performs and maintains laboratory proficiency testing, log books, records, and medical/office supplies
- Ensures new and existing certified medical assistant staff has received all necessary and required trainings and have the skills necessary to complete their work
- Partners with organization’s internal and external I.T. teams/consultants to develop EHR workflows
- Provides initial and ongoing training to CMAs on EHR and related workflows, both in one-on-one and group training models
- Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
- Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
- Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position
QualificationsJob Competencies & Minimum Qualifications: * High School diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved institution
- 2 years of medical assistant experience with leadership experience preferred
- Experience with EHR and NJIIS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent customer service and client services philosophy in all interactions
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license
