If you share a passion for performance, value a collegial and collaborative culture, and approach everything with the highest integrity, here’s an opportunity for you to invest your career at CPP Investments.Job DescriptionWe are currently recruiting a lead engineer for a 12-month contract in Public Markets Technology, partnering with CPP Investments’ investment professionals to design and implement solutions enabling order submission and holding management. You will be responsible for hands on development and maintenance of solutions covering multiple in-house applications for order submission/holding management and reporting purposes.Major accountabilities:

  • Lead the software development life cycle from analysis, development, to testing, and apply architectural best practices to solve complex problems while driving continuous improvement
  • Effectively unit test and perform integration testing on software components.
  • Design and build robust, resilient, and scalable technical solutions by working closely with peer Technology & Data teams and our business partners
  • Lead technical deliverables; continuously improve upon governance, partner with an end-user to build a deep understanding of their investment and operational processes to identify opportunities to enhance technology experience of departments.
  • Drive software delivery through prototyping exercises to solicit early user feedback and discover appropriate solutions
  • Provide on-going operational and system support to applications. Engage in production issue resolution, root cause analysis and implementation of controls to prevent reoccurrence. Provide post-implementation support to measure and ensure business benefits were realized.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred
  • Extensive Experience in Software Backend Development: Over 8 years of robust experience in backend development across various programming languages.
  • Proficient in Java Backend Development: More than 3 years of specialized experience in backend development using Java.
  • Expertise in AWS Services: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS Fargate, API Gateway, Lambda, Aurora PostgreSQL, ActiveMQ, and more.
  • DevOps and Infrastructure as Code: A strong DevOps mindset with practical experience in using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for deployments, ensuring efficient and repeatable infrastructure management.
