The team
You will joining Invert’s Product team. This team is responsible for driving the overall evolution of our data management and analytics product.
The role
We’re seeking an experienced Lead Product Designer who can bridge the gap between product vision and technical execution. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, user-centered design, and collaboration across multiple teams. You’ll play a pivotal role in turning ideas into tangible, user-friendly products that meet the specific needs of our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Product Collaboration: Partner with product managers to articulate and materialize ideas into actionable Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and design strategies.
- Engineering Support: Provide detailed direction and specifications to engineering teams to ensure implementation addresses important design decisions and UX challenges.
- Product Evolution: Critique, review, and ideate on ways to enhance product features, user experience, and overall design integrity.
- Research & Inspiration: Conduct external UX research to stay ahead of design trends, and take part in direct user research to build a deep understanding of user needs and use cases in the life sciences domain.
- Design Execution: Ideate on concepts in early product development, create wireframes and user flows for specific features, and help ensure consistency with our existing design system.
- Cross-functional Communication: Act as the design voice in cross-functional meetings, ensuring design considerations are integrated into product and development discussions.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in product design, preferably with a focus on software or SaaS platforms.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions and process, ideally on information intensive or data heavy products.
- Proven ability to translate complex ideas into intuitive, accessible designs.
- Experience collaborating closely with product managers and engineers in an agile environment.
- Strong understanding of design systems, UX design, and designing web-based products in responsive designs (low resolution laptops to high resolution monitors)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to advocate for design decisions.

The interview process
The interview process consists of the four stages described below. Candidates are assessed between each of these stages. The hiring manager is responsible for communicating decisions and next steps throughout the process. We aim to complete all stages within two weeks.
- Discovery: A 30-minute conversation with the hiring manager to determine whether there is mutual interest in moving forward.
- Non-Technical Competencies: Two 60-minute interviews with two different employees to assess non-technical competencies.
- Technical Competencies: A take-home assignment to assess technical competencies.
- References and Founder Chat: Three 15-minute conversations between the hiring manager and previous colleagues to gather external input. Simultaneously, a 30-minute meet-and-greet with one or both of the founders (depending on whether they have already participated in previous interviews).
