Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.How You’ll Be InvolvedThis post is an exciting opportunity to design, deliver, and lead a new research and evaluation team within Camden’s Health & Wellbeing Department. You will play a leading role in setting the direction for the team and fit into a Camden-wide research community of practice to promote a research-led approach within the Council. This role is part funded by the National Institute for Health Research’s Research Support Service (NIHR RSS) Specialist Centre for Public Health and you will contribute actively to their work.As well as setting the direction for the team, you will act as a point of expertise for research and evaluation, and work with the Head of Health Intelligence and Lead Public Health Analyst to influence policy and practice across health and wellbeing services. You will also have the opportunity to foster and grow our NHS, industry, and academic research partnerships, working on innovative and ambitious programs to tackle key issues such as child health equity and poverty in the heart of London.All About YouThe ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and can manage staff effectively. You will be educated in a suitable postgraduate qualification in public health, social and behavioural sciences, health sciences or equivalent (such as considerable practical experience of gathering and analysing primary data and synthesising evidence from multiple sources).You will also possess expertise in leading research projects, data analysis, and evidence synthesis. Proficient in statistical software (e.g., NVivo, R, Excel, SPSS) and knowledgeable in research ethics and public health data sets. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills are essential.
