ABOUT THE JOBGunzilla Games are looking for a passionate Lead UI Artist to us to work alongside our Director of UI leading our UI Art team on our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Battle Royale 2.0 third-person shooter, due for release on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series X|S and PCYou and your team will be responsible for generating mock-ups, prototypes, design systems and implementing AAA quality UI Art in Unreal Engine 5. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ship these features in our game.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead UI Art on a product team and inspire, mentor, and manage a team of UI Artists.
- Be accountable for the quality and consistency of UI Art produced on the product team.
- Work collaboratively with UX Design, Tech Design, and Code to create AAA quality UI experiences.
- Actively participate in the creation and implementation of design systems, game menus, HUD elements, Iconography, UI materials and shaders, UI animation, and motion design.
- Contribute to shipping product team features on time and to quality.
- Flag new and emerging design patterns or systems from the product team to UI Art Directors.
- Collaborate with the greater UX/UI Department to ensure consistency and quality is maintained across the product.
REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of experience designing, implementing in-game UI, working in agile environments, and on multi-disciplinary teams.
- 2-4 years of experience managing a team of UI Artists.
- Extensive experience with 2D art and authoring tools like Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and AfterEffects.
- Degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interactive Media or equivalent work experience as a User Interface artist.
- Experience implementing AAA quality UI Art in Unreal Engine or other comparable game engines.
- Portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for Motion Design and animation.
- Experience with building shaders and materials in Unreal Engine or comparable game engines a bonus.
- Experience in creating 3D game assets in software a bonus.
