This posting will establish and maintain a pool of part-time lecturers with experience teaching Anthropology courses in designated fields of the discipline, which may include specializations in areas such as Biological Anthropology, Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology, or courses within their area of expertise, for the Department of Anthropology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver. We seek candidates who can teach core undergraduate courses including Introduction to Biological Anthropology, Human Evolution, Introduction to Archaeology, World Prehistory, Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, and an upper-division required university core course in cultural diversity. By submitting your application, you will become part of an applicant pool. Candidates hired from this pool will fill temporary, non-tenure track positions and will teach no more than two courses per semester. Appointments will be part-time (less than 50%) and will be made semester-by-semester, depending on the needs of the department and subject to budgetary approval. Therefore, this posting does not necessarily reflect a current open position. The Department of Anthropology will contact you if there is an opening that suits your qualifications. Master’s degree in Anthropology with a specialization in Biological Anthropology, Archaeology, and/or Cultural Anthropology. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. PhD in Anthropology or related field. Prior teaching experience. Experiencein using engaged/experiential learning methods to reach a highly diverse undergraduate student population with many first-generation students. Ability to teach online if required.
