Job Description:
The Management Communication Center in the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Management Communication. The position
is a 12-month, full-time, non-tenure accruing faculty position beginning July 1, 2025, continuing through June 30, 2026
is renewable annually based on satisfactory performance evaluations, funding, and fit with the Center
carries a 16-credit teaching load for 12-months

The candidate’s primary role will be developing and teaching special topic intermediate communication courses that will be taught on an eight-week module schedule in the Heavener undergraduate program. The successful candidate must have strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills. When developing and refining courses, the candidate will be expected to work closely with, report to, and get approval from the Management Communication Center’s coordinator of the undergraduate special topic communication courses. The candidate will also focus on experiential learning in these courses and will participate in an ongoing partnership with Heavener. Specifically, the candidate will attend routine meetings one to two times per month with Heavener’s experiential learning team to collaborate on undergraduate activities and programs that could impact course material. The candidate will also support Heavener students out of the classroom and may be asked to serve as a guest speaker, attend student organization events, and serve as a judge for communication competitions.
In addition to teaching in the undergraduate program, the candidate will be required to teach graduate-level business writing and/or presenting courses in the specialized master’s programs and MBA programs in person and potentially online. Applicants must be flexible and available to teach in the evenings, early mornings, and on some weekends, in addition to teaching during normal class times.
Support is provided, including administrative assistance, office space, computers, and other resources.
The position is expected to be ongoing and renewable annually based on satisfactory performance, funding, and fit with the Center. The role of lecturers is highly valued by the Center and the University. To encourage and facilitate their professional development, lecturers at the University of Florida are eligible for promotion through the ranks of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Master Lecturer.

Advertised Salary:$72,000-$80,000
Minimum Requirements:
Academic Requirements
● Discipline-related Ph.D. or equivalent, preferably from a professional, technical, or business communication program, or a rhetoric or communication program.
● Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of application.
Experience Requirements
● Relevant experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching business or professional writing and speaking at the university level.
Preferred QualificationsBusiness knowledge and experience preferred but not required.
