With over 300 industrial sites and 77 R&D centers, 150,000 people, including more than 35,000 engineers across 40+ countries, FORVIA provides a unique and comprehensive approach to the automotive challenges of today and tomorrow.Composed of 6 business groups with 24 product lines, and a strong IP portfolio of over 14,000 patents, FORVIA is focused on becoming the preferred innovation and integration partner for OEMS worldwide.FORVIA aims to be a change maker committed to foreseeing and making the mobility transformation happen.Forvia Group Legal Department is hiring a Sales and Program Attorney within its global regional counsel network, reporting directly to the Head of Legal Sales and Programs.Position based in our global headquarters in Nanterre, France.A successful candidate will have experience in providing legal advice on a variety of sales and programs contract topics, be familiar with the automotive and manufacturing industry, have both a commercial and legal mindset and strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.Primary activities include:

  • Review and support of negotiations of Customer General Terms and Conditions, Requests for Proposal, handbooks, manuals and correspondence;
  • Assisting with management of claims, letters, disputes and commercial matters with Customers;
  • Developing and delivering regular training and outreach campaigns to sales, management and program personnel;
  • Monitoring and contact governance activities;
  • Working closely with Business Groups, Regional Counsel and Customer Business Units to assess risk and assist the business in creating risk mitigation plans;

Additionally, the candidate may assist regional counsel with other legal matters including management of external counsel, department legal billing and cost tracking and reporting, as well as certain transversal projects as appropriate. The right candidate will be open to learning new legal disciplines and will have the opportunity to grow with the position to assume new responsibilities.His/her internal clients and main interfaces will be: (i)Regional and Business Group Counsel; (ii) Vice President/Global Legal Regions; (iii) Global and Regional Customer Account Managers; and (iv) Sales and Commercial Support Organization.What if it was you?The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Minimum five (5) years legal with relevant experience both in either a law firm or in a company of the industrial sector, with a preference toward Tier One Automotive Industry experience and strong commercial/procurement review, drafting and negotiation skills. Track record with working on the full life cycle of contract negotiation and management. Experience with Automotive supply chain contracts a plus.
  • Strong track record of performance and legal analysis where the candidate’s technical and functional skills on the legal field have been the drivers of his/her success and credibility.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues both verbally and in writing; able to liaise and influence at all levels and across different areas of business.
  • Results orientated and pragmatic approach, with the ability to see the broader picture; “business” and strategic mindset and highly skilled at finding resolution to and drafting to minimize risk while forward business goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills. Fluent English.
