- Receiving packages ensuring delivery correctness
- Record keeping of shipping temperature monitoring devices upon receipt
- Unpacking and placing samples and materials into appropriate storage
- Reporting any broken or damaged sample receipt and any sample information discrepancies to clients.
- Responsible to enter the prices for test work items in LIMS based on the quotation.
- Checks PO to ensure the availability of sufficient funds
- Ensures that brokerage charges are billed along with testing assignments.
- Contacts clients in case of any issues and arranges meetings, as required.
- Must be capable of multi-tasking to meet the department needs and working with multiple managers and assignments simultaneously.
- Must be able to follow standard procedures, communicate with all levels and a strong team player.
- Follow Training SOP for training and training records.
- Provide mutual back-up support to other staff as required
- May login sample/reference standards/reagents in the LIMS system as required.
- Generating Lab-sheets and sample labels
- Delivering Lab-sheets and samples into appropriate departments
- Maintaining sample receiving area organized and free of clutter.
- Updating standard database in LIMS by adding new or removing expired / used up standards
- Responsible for removing expired standards from shelves to keep accurate inventory
- Performing standards inventory
- Informing clients about their upcoming expiring reference standards
- Liaise with the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and European Pharmacopeia (EP) organizations and such, on regular basis to ensure Reference Standards database is regularly updated.
- Maintenance and filing of standard certificates.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- A post-secondary education in sciences (chemistry or biology) program would be preferred
- Previous experience in an administrative or technical role would be an asset.
- Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions / Standard Operating Procedures in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
- Candidates must be proficient in using various type of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.) and be able to demonstrate good keyboarding skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate good keyboarding skills (65 – 75 WPM).
- Must be highly organized and able to work effectively and efficiently in a demanding environment with frequently changing priorities.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
- Must be able to lift/move items that weigh up to 10 kg
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
