We provide Prime Video customers with low latency streaming for major events. Serving our customers on the biggest live sporting events like the English Premier League, Thursday Night Football and UEFA Champions League to Prime Video customers across the globe with an unparalleled experience. Our customers receive live content in less than 10 seconds and benefit from our pioneering features for low latency and synchronized playback.
We are looking for a talented Software Development Manager to lead the development of Prime Video’s Live Low latency Video Client stack (Sye). You will manage a team that owns the low latency client development, across platforms ( Android, Living Room, IOS). It has high demands on functionality, performance, robustness, compatibility and maintainability. You will lead development of new features, long term architecture, along with continued enhancement of the current codebase and integration into respective platforms.
Key job responsibilities
The manager will be leading a team of engineers to utilise Agile methodologies to deliver software projects for the team.
The manager will be responsible for writing the team’s three year vision, product roadmaps, working backwards artefacts, ensuring operational excellence in the team, and contributing as part of the Sye leadership group.
A key responsibility for the manager will be the career development of the engineers in the team, managing performance, promotions and champion best practices and innovation.

You will be working with your team of talented engineers to solve complex problems to benefit Prime Video Customers. Helping to design and implement solutions for low latency streaming that will run on record breaking live events globally.
About the team
Our team manages the end to end low latency streaming offering for prime video. We are located across London, Seattle, and Stockholm Sweden. Relocation to Sweden is also possible.
We have a diverse range of people and skills in our org, which gives us all new ways to learn how to solve difficult, complex and ambiguous problems.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
Experience leading a group of software engineers in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
A proven track record of software delivery through all phases of development and developing long-term development and business technology strategies
Demonstrable knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategies
