A Day in the Life of an LPN at PSI:As an LPN at PSI, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Make our children feel safe when they need medical care.
- Providing nursing care and health support to children in various school settings.
- Tending to the priority of medications, monitoring vital signs, managing simple basic health needs and the important needs of seizures, diabetes, epi-pen injections ….
- Identify, monitor and support students with chronic illnesses and disabilities as needed.
- Handling confidential information and maintaining compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations.
- Supporting the prevention of communicable diseases and implementing protocols to maintain a safe, healthy environment.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, school staff, and families to ensure the best care for each child.
- Staying informed about medication protocols, school health practices, and other related nursing guidelines.
What We’re Looking For:To be considered for this LPN position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Current LPN license through the Ohio Board of Nursing (required).
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality (required).
- Experience in school health or pediatric nursing is preferred, but not necessary.
- Experience in Diabetes, Asthma, Allergies, Seizures, and sometimes Tube Feeding. Training is available.
- Basic knowledge of communicable disease prevention and medication administration (required).
- Must have or be willing to obtain current BLS/CPR and/or First Aid certification (depending on position).
