The Opportunity:Company, Department: Emera New BrunswickLocation: Saint John, New BrunswickClosing Date: October 25, 2024We are currently looking to hire a Management Systems & Assurance Specialist to join Emera New Brunswick. This position will be part of a small, integrated, professional team and will support the daily administration and maintenance of Emera New Brunswick’s (ENB) Operational Management System (OMS). The Management Systems & Assurance Specialist will provide analytical and organizational support for the Legal & Regulatory Team and other functional areas such as Operations/Engineering, Health, Safety & Environment and Stakeholder Relations, as required.Key elements of this role include::The Management Systems & Assurance Specialist will assist in the maintenance of the OMS and regulatory compliance for ENB and ensure that all controlled documents reflect the processes, registers, programs, procedures, inspections, monitoring, and records currently in use by the company and that the resulting service level meets the company’s regulatory quality expectations.

  • Assist the Manager, Regulatory Compliance and the Manager, Management Systems in maintaining the company’s OMS, programs and associated documents and records on ENB’s SharePoint site and in ensuring regulatory compliance;
  • Draft revisions to OMS controlled documents, propose edits to documentation to improve consistency and meet Quality Assurance Program and regulatory requirements;
  • Monitor records and register inputs to ensure quality of preparation and timely filing in the records database and company registers on the SharePoint site;
  • Ensure document revisions/new documents have adequate and appropriate review prior to issuance;
  • Support Process/Program Owners and Managers in the collection, analysis and reporting on inputs for the quarterly and annual management review meetings, program/process effectiveness measures and goals, objective and targets;
  • Assist in the development of action plans arising from operations, audits, management reviews and other compliance and continuous improvement activities;
  • Maintain the minutes of the team meeting;
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual report on the company’s OMS and operations;
  • Manage the management of change initiatives;
  • Support regulatory, internal, corporate and third-party audits and other compliance verification activities related to the OMS (and its elements) and the business;
  • Other assignments, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in, Business, Science, or Quality Management and/or a minimum of 5-8 years related experience in quality assurance and/or management systems;
  • Knowledge of Management Systems and associated standards, such as CSA Z662;
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance in their development and implementation is essential;
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 would be considered an asset;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Teams and Sharepoint are required;
