The Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) offers degrees tailored to match individual interests in a high-tech discipline at the forefront of innovation. Staff work with faculty members to help build a foundation for student success as students prepare, through academics and research, for a career in one of the world’s hottest growth industries. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Advancement, the Manager, Alumni and Industry Engagement is responsible for the planning and implementation of an engagement strategy that engages alumni, donors, students, industry and community in supporting the interests of the faculty and university.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategy to identify and create new external partnerships that align with the FCS mission and values. Manage industry stakeholder relationships to ensure consistent and continued support of our key initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and manage an annual strategic alumni plan. Ensure strategic communications and marketing for the Faculty’s engagement and donor relations plans.
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate Faculty-based alumni, donor, student, community and industry engagement plans, programs and events.
  • Build and maintain relationships between alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the Faculty of Computer Science at regional, national and international levels.
  • Work closely with the Office of Advancement, coordinate and oversee logistics of events (class reunions, dinners, receptions, recognition activities, awards banquets and other activities).
  • Evaluate current partnership relationships and support the development of new champion market audiences. Focusing on lead generation and searching for opportunities.

NoteThe successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant area of study and a minimum of three years’ experience in a related business, marketing, public relations, or communications role (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Service oriented and committed to results
  • Demonstrated strength in communications, including accomplished skills in oral communications, writing, and editing
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point) and the ability to work with data sets
  • Strong capabilities with digital platforms, social media best practices, contact management programs, digital communications, and the ability to analyze effectiveness within these arenas
  • Event management experience

Assets

  • Experience in alumni relations, fundraising/advancement.
  • Layout and design skills (Adobe Creative Suite).
