National Grid is hiring a Manager, Analytics for our Gas Performance Reporting Analysis in the following locations: Brooklyn NY or Melville NY.

Job Purpose

This Manager will lead a dynamic team of data scientists focused on process automation, development of machine learning models, predictive analytics, and comprehensive performance reporting.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of advanced analytics, leadership experience, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for business growth.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage and motivate a team of data scientists, providing direction, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of advanced analytics initiatives, including process automation and machine learning models for the purpose of creating efficiencies.
  • Drive the creation and optimization of predictive analytics models to identify trends, forecast performance, and support decision-making processes for the efficiency portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive performance reporting systems that provide actionable insights to various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop analytics solutions that drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all analytics and reporting processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in analytics, machine learning, and related technologies.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in advanced analytics methodologies.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of analytics initiatives and make necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience in managing a team of analysts in the areas of process automation, machine learning, predictiveanalytics, and performance reporting preferred.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and relevant machine learning frameworks.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skillswith a strategic andanalytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills,with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and best practices in data management.

Downstate NY Salary: $150,000 – $176,000 a year

Upstate NY Salary: $124,000 – $146,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
