We are an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that values empowerment, quality, continued learning and ongoing development of our workforce.About the RoleIn your role as an HR Business Partner you will serve as a consultant, providing effective HR guidance and support to the Health Markets organization with specific alignment to the Clinical Solutions, Global Marketing, and Global Content Partner businesses to successfully deliver on Elsevier’s people strategy and priorities while ensuring a positive employee experience. This includes all areas of people management, such as but not limited to, talent acquisition, training & development, compensation & benefits, leadership development and succession planning. You will serve as a trusted guide to employees and teams by providing exceptional service within a commercially driven environment. This role is remote based with a preferred location in the East or Central time zone, and will report to the VP, Human Resources.**Open for candidates in EST or CSTIn this exciting role, you will be responsible for:Business Strategy

  • Developing, implementing, & supporting HR-related strategies & initiatives for the business which support Elsevier’s people strategy and priorities
  • Proactively thinking and innovating our future operating models to sustain and grow our business

Engagement & Culture

  • Serving as a consultative business partner advising on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, employee champion, & change agent aiming to enhance employee motivation and engagement
  • Providing coaching, feedback, and guidance to business unit leaders, ensuring that managers and leaders in the business coach and develop their teams
  • Driving & supporting initiatives to build and maintain a diverse & inclusive community

Talent Management & Development

  • Supporting and coaching people leaders and employees regarding all Talent Management processes
  • Organizing and facilitating the Talent Review process ensuring effective succession planning and talent pipelining

Performance Management & People Management

  • Partnering with our Recruitment, Learning & Development, Benefits, Payroll, Rewards and Employee Relations teams to address business needs and goals
  • Supporting employee activities and training programs to ensure a positive culture of engagement, talent, learning & development

Data Analytics

  • Analyzing, narrating and bringing to life all aspects of people analytics and real-time insights to promote fact-based decisions driving the people agenda for the business

Organizational Development

  • In partnership with the Director, HR:
  • Supporting leaders in change management initiatives with a data-driven approach, and a focus on revenue realization
  • Providing guidance and expertise in organization structure and design to ensure support of the short-term and long-term goals of the organization
  • Assisting with the execution and implementation of merger and acquisition related activities

An ideal candidate will have knowledge and expertise as follows:

  • Prior demonstrated HR generalist experience or in a similar role
  • Experience working with organizations going through change or transformation preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills including experience with business reporting and employee opinion data. Ability to analyze data, visualize and narrate a compelling story that promotes fact-based decision making
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and influencing skills at all levels of an organization
  • Motivated self-starter with a passion for talent management and career development
  • Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives
  • Detail-oriented with skills in project management, change management, and coordination
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
